When you try to hookup online is it normal to ask for verification?
 

I responded to a few ads from locanto. I know most are BS but one I ask if can verify by taking pic with a V hand sign up. Person got really defensive/offended. Seemed like a big overreaction.

So either the person is a catfish, or for some reason some people get pissed off when asked for verification.

if they dont want verify for you either fake or angry lor. angry got 2 reasons i can think of , they think u wasting their time and/or you indirectly offended them by not trusting them. so can be 1 of 3 reason i can think of or all 3 reasons or 2 reasons

I did have fun on locanto several times and it was mutual fun not paid. Some even turned out to be ladies that are active here.

I do have a different opinion. It's always best to protect yourself online. There's lots of fake accounts and scammers online, and if you want to have fun sexting or naughty video cam with a lady, you gonna make sure that at least she is who she claims she is.
You really don't want to just end up sending message or naked video call with a guy on the other end of the screen.
Just ask for a quick one minute video call to verify identities.
Some people will definitely reject. Probably they are offended. That's their own business. But this also filters out those fake accounts as they wouldn't accept such request.

Better to be safe than sorry..plenty of fishes out there.. don't ruin your reputation and family.

For productivity, asking directly will be most efficient since it is from locanto.
But if other hookup app,
and you want to reduce the chances of offending a real person.
maybe you don't ask for photo with a reason of verification,
of course some lady will be offended.
But say you're alone and say you are having a tiring day,
wants to video call and have a chat,
they won't feel that you're trying to verify their identity.
Or use some other reason to get "unique" photos, example ootd then after that ask them to take something behind them because it looks interesting.
if they are really there I doubt they will reject.

good point. checking their instagram (if any) can also help. doubt she can fake all the photos.

no choice verify is important if you can verify urself. meaning to say u have something to hide. if you want to hide and you want to play. why dont u go and pay for service right. no choice bro have to be fair
